INTERNSHIP PROGRAM SUMMARY:

The DC Housing Finance Agency’s Internship Program is designed to attract undergraduate and graduate level students who are interested in the Agency’s mission and a career in affordable housing. Interns will perform a variety of assignments designed to enhance their professional and technical development. They will gain valuable on the job training and exposure to a small, fast-paced work environment.


OFFICE OF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR INTERN:

The Office of the Executive Director Intern provides direct support to senior agency leadership by assisting with research, data analysis, and the preparation of high-quality presentations and written materials. This role offers hands-on experience collaborating across divisions to address organizational challenges and develop innovative solutions. Interns are expected to take initiative by managing independent projects from concept through completion, while working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, possess strong communication and project management skills, demonstrate critical thinking,

Requirements

  ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Assist Agency's senior leadership team with conducting research, gathering information, and synthesizing data

· Assist Chief of Staff in the creation of presentations, memos, and other documents

· Collaborate with divisions within the Agency to develop creative solutions to challenges

· Take initiative and own independent projects (concept to completion) with guidance from supervisor or assigned team member 

· Perform other duties as assigned


KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university seeking an undergraduate and/or graduate degree

• Preferred majors include: Business Management, Risk Management, Actuarial Science, or a related major

• Have at least a 3.00 grade point average

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Possess strong working knowledge of all aspects of Microsoft Office 365 Suite 

• Ability to conduct preliminary research

• Possess solid project management skills 

• Posses critical thinking skills 

• Ability to conduct preliminary research

• Ability to successfully and autonomously manage projects of a varied and complex nature

• Ability to work proactively and operate accurately and efficiently in a fast paced environment with variable deadlines  

• Receptive to feedback
