Overview
Responsible to manage the delivery of nursing care to a specific patient population on a 24-hour basis while achieving quality clinical outcomes and maximizing the utilization of resources. Effectively managing the delivery of nursing care requires creating and promoting a professional practice environment at the unit level that exemplifies a vision and goals congruent with the Medical Center and the respective clinical service line as well as high levels of coworker engagement, patient satisfaction, safe and quality clinical outcomes, financial performance and physician satisfaction. Position Details:

Nurse Manager – Main Operating Room

Join a high-performing surgical services team at a Level I Trauma Center and Burn Center featuring 27 Operating Rooms and providing care to patients of all ages, including pediatrics.

Position Summary

The Nurse Manager provides 24-hour leadership and accountability for the Main Operating Room, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care while driving operational excellence, staff engagement, and clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations of a complex, high-volume surgical services department.
  • Develop staffing plans, schedules, and resource allocation to support patient care needs.
  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, patient satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with interdisciplinary teams to improve workflow, remove barriers, and enhance care delivery.
  • Monitor quality metrics and implement evidence-based practices to achieve exceptional outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards.
  • Recruit, develop, coach, and retain a highly engaged perioperative team.
  • Support professional development, competency management, and performance excellence.
  • Align departmental goals and initiatives with organizational and Nursing Strategic Plans.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Current RN license
  • BSN
  • Progressive perioperative leadership experience

Preferred:

  • Master's degree
  • Leadership experience in a Level I Trauma Center or large surgical services environment
  • CNOR certification
