Schedule: Part Time Days / 24 hours per week / 7am - 7:30pm

Join the Respiratory Therapy team at Providence Hospitals, a respected network within Henry Ford Health, serving communities across Oakland County. As part of our Intensive Care Units, you'll play a vital role in delivering critical care to patients in need.

Role Overview

As a Respiratory Therapist, you'll deliver life-support, resuscitation, monitoring, and medical gases therapy primarily to critical care patients in the Intensive Care Units. You'll perform invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures, maintain clinical expertise across various business units, and ensure effective communication and documentation of patient care.

What You Will Do

• Deliver life-support, resuscitation, monitoring, and medical gases therapy to critical care patients.
• Perform invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures for Intensive Care and General Practice Units patients.
• Maintain clinical expertise for departmental assignments across various business units.
• Communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, physicians, and other system employees regarding patient care needs.
• Document all aspects of patient care accurately and completely.
• Supervise, direct, and delegate tasks to respiratory orienteers, externs, and students as assigned.

Qualifications

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program.
• Associate of Science Degree, minimum
• Recent graduate of a Respiratory Therapist school or two years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience in a Tertiary Hospital.
• Registration with the National Board of Respiratory Care.
• Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the State of Michigan (new graduates have 90 days to obtain).

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Respiratory Therapy.
